The fifth graders showed off their artistic talent with sculpture project. We started the lesson off by reviewing gesture drawings and how to capture a person's gesture using the language of their body. Next, they transformed their chosen gesture into a sculpture using 12 and 14 gauge wire. Finally, the details (and personalities) were added using Wiki Stix, pipe cleaners, Twisteez, foil, and colored tissue paper. These projects have been the talked about thing in the school. Way to go, fifth graders!
