The second graders learned about the history of Impressionism. The artists who created this style used lots of light - often even painting outside. They also used small brushstrokes right on top of each other that created new colors. We had fun picking an object to draw that the Impressionist would have see 200 years ago. Next, we created a singular print - a monoprint - using water! How cool! The effects were very Impressionistic! Great job, sweet second graders.
