We made it!

We completed the first week of school.  Congratulations to all the parents, teachers and students for aiding in this success.  I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all my students (mostly old but some new friends as well) as we started the art year off with a splash of fun.  The Kindergarteners and First Graders focused on making and decorating their sketchbooks.  The second through fifth graders quickly assembled their sketchbooks and then played a scavenger hunt board game about the art room.  I loved seeing the kids interactively figure out where things are located in the art room.  It was a great way to let the students who've been in my class work collaboratively with the new students as they navigated and searched around the art room.

I was highly impressed with the great manners, awesome behavior and extraordinarily positive attitudes the fabulous State Bridge Crossing Cougars exhibited this first week of school.  I can tell this is going to be a marvelous year!

very creative use of extra "pawns"

"How do I become an AOM?" The first of the year board always highlights what character traits I'm looking for as I choose the Artists of the Month.
