3rd grade Underwater Worlds

I changed this lesson up a bit this year after I saw a friend try it this way at camp this past summer.  I loved how hers turned out (and maybe need some teaching tips!).  I think my students did a good job with this artwork.  They were fabulous painters and they mixed tints and shades to create a monochromatic painting showing value.  I think they understood the concept of depth pretty well by their placement of the underwater plants and animals.  The plants and animals were harder to make easily recognizable but I think all of the students tried their best.  Great job!
