5th grade reduction printing

I love when the students do this lesson!  We have great discussions about Pop Art and what popular culture is today.  We discuss facial proportions and how we can use math to generalize where our facial features should be.  We review Styrofoam printmaking from their previous lesson in fourth grade.  Then, we add the special fifth grade element: reduction!  Take a look at these fun Pop Art Reductive Prints!

Looking at all these pictures, I'm reminded of how fun this lesson is for me too.  I love how the students want to mix colors, create cool effects and make very creative titles to their work!
