Fourth Grade Fauve Animals

The fourth graders went in depth with their learning about Fauvism.  Those crazy Wild Beasts!  (Why...thank you!)  To bring light to animals that need our help, they picked an endangered animal as their subject matter.  We discussed good compositional elements and reviewed how complementary colors make the images pop.  I love how they turned out!

Kinder's Fishy Fishy

I always love how excited Kindergarteners get...over just about anything!  This is a fun lesson where we use "magic" Art Salt to make bubbles in our background.  We talk about combining shapes to make the fish and add seaweed for it's habitat.

It's painting time for most classes!  I love when the students walk in and someone says, "Wow, it really smells like an art room in here!"  Exactly!
