First grade TAKEOFF!

The first graders reviewed their line knowledge and learned the word, "silhouette" with this awesome lesson.  I found a similar image on Pinterest and since I'm always looking for different lessons for the youngsters to do related to line, I thought this would be very fun to try.  We brainstormed about different kinds of things that would fly in the air, and, wow, these first graders are creative.  I heard everything from a Black-throated Blue Warbler, to the Tooth fairy, to a dragonfly and even to Jesus.  I think these turned out great!
