Second Grade Happy Shacks!

These make me so happy!  I LOVED how these artworks turned out, but I also LOVED the learning that was gained through this lesson.  The second graders learned about the art and life of Beverly Buchanan.  She was (died in 2015) a folk artist from Georgia who got her inspiration for her art from the shacks she would see along the country roads of Georgia and South Carolina.  She created her own 2D and 3D shacks in honor of the hardworking people who lived here.  Here are some of our creations;
