Meet Mrs. Elder
Hi! My name is Mrs. Allison Elder. I am the elementary school art teacher at a fabulous school in Johns Creek, Georgia, State Bridge Crossing Elementary. I’ve had the privilege of working in other schools around this area, learning from excellent staff and being inspirited by a variety of students. I've always had a fondness for reading and art so with a lot of patience and great mentors, I completed my Master's of Art Education in 2011, focusing my thesis on how to incorporate children's literature into the art curriculum. I love to use books as a tool in my class and I hope you will be inspired to also.
I have a very supportive husband, Dave, and a super cute Goldendoodle named Willy. I grew up just a few minutes away but since then, my parents now live on a lake in Alabama. It happens to be my favorite place to relax. My mother is a sixth grade teacher and inspired my love of learning and reading. My in-laws live really close by to this school! A perfect weekend would include hanging out with them. My mother-in-law is also a teacher. She teaches second grade at Northwood Elementary.
